The used trailer purchased especially for the construction (with buy-back offer ;-) was, besides the Makita cordless drywall screwdriver, the best purchase
I also bought a trailer, a one-ton tipper. Thanks to the loading ramps, you might even be able to transport a mini excavator on it :D
It was winter at the time, so the buying season for cheaper trailers. The plan is also to get rid of it again after 2 years.
However, the driving license has become quite a hurdle by now. With 1.5 tons in front of my Octavia, it’s just barely still doable with Class B. Which I find ridiculous because the thing is so narrow and short... at least compared to my catamaran trailer, which is 6.20 meters long and even has the mast extending over the car at the front. But with just two Topcats, it only weighs one ton...
Is it worth installing a tow hitch on the 200,000 km Ford, just for construction? Or better buy a construction site vehicle? Serious question! I have no knowledge about cars.
Cars without a tow hitch are possible but toys ;)
No, seriously, it depends on how long you still want to use it. I’d rather not get a second car, since the maintenance costs will quickly eat up any savings. The big advantage of a trailer is that you can transport everything, whether dirty or large. And that it hardly costs anything to maintain.
