how you can even think about buying the 'lover's house' with the conditions is really beyond me. That you don't want to / can't lift a finger was not clear to me at all, which makes this a project of impossibility for me. Has a decision actually been made in that regard?

The tendency is towards no, also because of the loss of subsidies. I know what you mean, but it’s just a question of money. Everything you can do yourself, you can also have done. It just costs accordingly. We would have needed to redo almost everything in the house anyway.

the used trailer specially purchased for the construction (with a buyback offer ;-) was, alongside the Makita cordless drywall screwdriver, the best purchase

definitely... the collated screwdriver was the best little helper :D but with the new car, we waited until after the construction.

So, I am a craftsman myself with a corresponding understanding of quality. When I have had craftsmen, I was rarely satisfied. So, for me there were always follow-up works or well, situations where it was acceptable. Doing it myself is still the best option for me, simply because a craftsman naturally neither has the time nor the experience. There are many jobs where it doesn't really matter. But for me, it's annoying to pay someone 60 euros or more per hour when there is something to complain about at the end of the work. And I am not a pedant. Really not. Nobody works at my place if I am not there and standing next to them. But as I said, I am a craftsman myself and I know how they tick. For example, if you take the time specifications for installing a window, they are so tight that nobody puts in any more effort. Then the large, triple-glazed windows, nobody really wants to install those anymore. The companies already have huge problems just getting employees. So what can you do? You better do it yourself, then you know it will be done well. The problem is always the time required. Of course!

Trailer before / during the construction. New car (now without a trailer hitch) only three months later ;-)
