That meant that the defrosting by icing is not done purely electrically with power...

The energy that this thing pulls out of your system must be put back in afterwards. Anyway, it will already be accounted for in the overall balance. I just hope that I will still be allowed to use our two-year-old Weishaupt Superdupfereffizienz boiler for a while.

Morning,
I should really get properly informed again.
Is the type of heating already important for the building application, or can that be clarified later?
I have an appointment with the architect next week.

In our rented terraced house there's an ancient (22 years old) boiler installed, it still works for now, but I expect the boiler to die at any time.

Maybe someone should start a thread - Comparison of heating types - Boiler vs. Heat Pump.

Regards, Olli

Yes, it is important because the heat protection certificate depends on the type of heat generator and it is part of the application process itself (when this happens can vary).

Look around a bit in the forum, the discussion (or rather a war of beliefs) has of course already happened more than once :)

At the moment, the gas boiler is clearly at an advantage (purely financially considered). Even with the CO2 tax for the next 5 years. But that is not set in stone. It is quite possible that politically the price of gas will be raised significantly again. And electricity can be generated by oneself, apart from inverse proportional demands and production peaks, gas probably not.

It should also be considered that the latent heat of crystallization (heat generated during freezing) is largely available to the heat pump. This should be taken into account when evaluating the efficiency...
