You are right; still, the forum rules require stating the profession. Tox kindly took the trouble to spare you from reading it. By the way, something you could have easily done yourself; also a form of respect towards the users of this forum.

If that should be the case, I see no reason why an admin should have granted you the waiver to omit stating this honest profession?

You can think a lot – reading helps here as well. Employees of a bank do not necessarily know the specifics of financing if they are entrusted with other tasks by their employer.

Finally, I would like to remind you that you are a guest here in the forum; just like all of us others. If you happened to have a bad day today, I am sorry for you, but that by no means justifies the tone you take in your last post.

Rhenish regards

Now take a deep breath and start the new day fresh.

The job description is not pointless.
If we look at it from the other side:
Every opinion is important to me. But when it comes to a question about electricity, in order to assess the relevance of an answer to my question, I think that the answer of an electrician in his field is more reliable than the answer of a banker.

However, I seriously wonder what problem some people have in stating their profession?
Personally, I appreciate professions like nurses/carers or recycling workers more than a manager, for example. These people do work that I couldn’t necessarily do (with carers for the emotional side, and with garbage/recycling workers purely because of the work), which is why these people deserve my highest respect. In my view, these professions also deserve significantly higher pay – but I can’t influence that.
NO ONE has to be ashamed of their profession, because they practice it to support themselves and their family and possibly also to fulfill their dreams.

I will try to explain my perspective on this and why I can understand the professional designation as a reasonable requirement while simultaneously viewing it critically:

1. There are relatively rare professions that, in connection with the construction site/residence, allow identification of the person. Not everyone desires that.

2. There are professions that are specifically searched for by, for example, people seeking help online, then contacted via PM, and can get into reactive distress.

3. There are participants in some forums who are in extreme distress and, for example, send suicide threats to participants of certain professional groups. These may then be obligated/emergency duty at night to inform the police, wake the forum operator to obtain the real data of the affected person, etc.
Anyone who has been through that once thinks 30 times about whether to provide their profession.

I myself was able to identify 2 people here in the forum based on the professional designation and place of residence.

From my point of view, both have their justification. Anyone who has such a conflict can reasonably discuss it with [Bauexperte], I think.

Whoever manages what Susi does based on the mandatory fields (m/f, state, and profession) should apply to the NSA or the BND.

Which professional group is being targeted like that?

One aspect that I personally had not seen before. Interesting and understandable. On the other hand – now that the specification of the construction site has been reduced to the federal state, in my opinion a direct identification will be difficult, unless the OP reveals further details in his posts or private messages.

They don’t take those who are -> too quick to catch on for the job.

One or two more comments in the forum (e.g. bragging a bit) and you are quickly identified.

You can surely think of the corresponding professions that unfortunately then have to respond.

So, I’ll end the off-topic in this post here, otherwise there will surely be a warning soon.
