I think the savings on heating consumption will not bring major successes; in my opinion, if it works, it will only be through a 40+ with corresponding savings on electricity consumption (approx. 35,000€ in funding for 2 residential units + corresponding annual savings on electricity consumption estimated at 800-1000€). That should make the whole thing worthwhile or at least break even.

Jochi is quite right.

Whereby: The subsidies also have to be financed. Capital investment.

You have to pay for it anyway if you build like that.

If you then end up with a black (or red) zero: Brilliant.

The rest is currently - as of 2016 - a question of willingness, the green thumb, enjoyment of the matter, and the ability to have access to appropriate funds.

Because honestly: zero interest rates or not, the additional costs are hardly offset in such a way that enthusiasm arises in monetary terms.
You can do nice calculations, but that is and remains just nice calculations.

Whoever builds KFW40 or 40+ derives their enthusiasm from somewhere else then.
I think that’s good - whoever can and wants to: Go for it. An (almost) self-sufficient house is a strong, brilliant thing that would also bring me joy.

The energy saving ordinance is constantly being tightened anyway. I think by 2025 the area KFW40+ or even stricter will be standard anyway....

Best regards
Thorsten

I will probably tackle the topic 40+, or rather, the planning is currently strongly leaning in that direction. When I have more precise numbers, we can gladly revisit the topic, I think it will be interesting for many in the future.

We will hopefully find out this week. It may be that the subsidies end up at around +/- zero. The lost living space due to the thicker brick would have to be compensated, that probably depends on further factors.

But yes, it will definitely be interesting 100.0%. It would be great if you also report back at the appropriate time.

Thanks.
