May I know which hollow blocks you used?

The regular standard ones. You can get 50x25x20 everywhere. Previously had a slope. The house was compacted, a base plate on top, and then 2 stories of the house. The wall is two-sided towards the street. Highest point 1.20 meters. I think we went about 30 cm into the ground. With a shovel and sweat. Borrowed a tamper for compacting. All the chatter from people saying the wall will collapse and stuff like that. The neighbor has a 50 cm wooden palisade, nothing has collapsed after 6 years. Concrete will hold. Ok, the neighbor sponsored topsoil, molded his garden and had an excavator and too much soil. Got him a 100€ food basket.

Just as a side note, normally it’s 80 cm.
We do 35 cm concrete, 35 cm recycling underneath, and then the stones for the remaining 10 cm.
It may hold like this, but no one would offer or take liability for something like that.

Yes, I know the numbers. Best 6 meters deep into the ground! That is often exaggerated. As long as you don't have 2 meters of topsoil pressing against the wall, everything is fine. You don't have to go that deep. It's all nonsense. Our advantage was that the neighbor had also backfilled and 10-15 cm of opposing soil came up against our wall. But you can have the L-stones installed and pay the money. Do it yourself tutorials too.

We do DIY because it's too expensive
But you didn't mention back pressure either
We have about 80cm of fill, that definitely puts on some pressure
