Good evening everyone,
Can you take a look at the following offer and evaluate if it corresponds to an acceptable price? I understand that it is not a standard project (slope location with manual excavation) and a very small job, which naturally affects the price, but I am a bit shocked. For the nearly 12 sqm area, 32,000 euros are being charged. I had estimated a maximum of 10,000. Fairly, I have to say that the contact on site was very positive and also the only one who responded to a request for an offer at all.
14 sqm of concrete at max. 200 euros amounts to 2,800, what could be driving the price so much? The 7,000 euros for digging also seem a bit much for the small area.
Thank you all!

8,000 €/ton of steel is also four times the usual amount. You can only advise against it!

Realistic are more like 7,000-8,000 euros, since [Kleinauftrag] maybe 10k. But 17k for that little formwork and 14m3 concrete? Crazy, that is more than cheeky.

Please, why is that "cheeky"? When the diesel runs out at the gas station around the corner on Sunday evening at 9:30 PM and the fuel tanker only arrives on Monday at 10:30 AM, the gas station sets the price for diesel at 9.999 EUR. This ensures that anyone who really has to refuel, no matter the cost, gets their diesel. This could be an on-call duty or a police emergency vehicle.

The point is: The price is posted, and you can decide whether to buy at that price or not. There's nothing cheeky about that; it's supply and demand. Possibly the questioner might get a better price if they want their foundation only in 2 years. But then that has to be communicated to the entrepreneur...

Another example from practice. If I book a flight with Lufthansa today for November 13, 2024, so in a year... I will probably pay 200 EUR for a round trip to Gothenburg. If I book today the flight for tomorrow, November 13, 2023, the price can easily be 2,000 EUR, that is ten times as much. Cheeky? No, supply and demand. Lufthansa probably doesn’t have any more seats and has to kick someone out because we, as business customers, have priority. That costs.

Please, please... remove this vocabulary here... this is the free market economy, nothing more, nothing less. You don’t do it any differently in your company, I bet on that.

Excuse me? The thread starter asks if this is realistic. I answer with no "cheeky" or alternatively "rip-off" "a joke" "scam" take your pick. Yes, there are defense offers clearly, but four times as much? Come on, I hope the thread starter doesn't accept that.
