And with that, welcome to the society that lives by the motto "If everyone thinks of themselves, everyone is taken care of." Not my world at all.

Better than getting into conflicts with all the neighbors. If the area simply isn't a "quiet" neighborhood where the dead are not to be disturbed, then so be it. Then you have to move. Why should I "whisper" in my own garden? Why even acquire property in the first place, let alone tie myself to a miserable loan, if in the end I live like in a rented apartment? I'd rather move than tie myself to such a concrete block with the risk of living in an area that doesn't match my lifestyle.

Should you force your will on others? And if they don't behave as expected, what then? How can one lead a happy and self-determined life if one constantly wants to be annoyed by others? Not my world at all.

I handle it just like Warrior84: Stay calm and enjoy your own life.

I also think that in this case there must already be a backstory... here in the new development area (14 houses) we feel like we are the only ones who have adhered to the development/design plan. What you see all around here, although explicitly required otherwise:

- high-gloss roof tiles
- bar grille fence 50cm away from the boundary (ok) without a hedge in front but with plastic through (not ok)
- gabion elements in the fence
- many have no hedge at all
- the brick color should be red, we see: purple/eggplant, beige-brown and yellow
- the side fencing of the house may be max. 60 or 80cm
... I could go on.

Then you do wonder why you’re the only fool who follows the regulations...

Yes, why actually? They really prescribe the color of the bricks? Wow....Property...the very definition of freedom. That's ridiculous.

What is this supposed to be here now? 1. That wasn’t the point and 2. It is by far not like that everywhere. There are definitely plots where apart from max. number of floors and floor area ratio, site coverage ratio, nothing is specified.
