New problem: Sink

There are some sinks at Ikea that require a base cabinet of at least 50 cm. 50 cm would also be the size I need. But such a thing does not exist at Ikea. I only have one option to accommodate the dishwasher and sink on this wall because of the connections. There I have a maximum of 117 cm and then the stove goes around the corner. I cannot extend the pipes because rearranging the appliances is not possible due to doors or windows. The very small sink that fits into the 40 cm base cabinet has no drainboard, which is probably inconvenient for washing up. Then the water from the washed dishes would run all over the countertop. That is probably the end of my Ikea kitchen dream Anita

... when you take off the IKEA glasses for a moment: There are plenty of sinks with a draining board that also fit into a 40 cm base cabinet. With your measurement of 117, you are giving away 17 cm, but that could be well used, for example with a pull-out towel holder.

I don't have a draining board and never want to have one again. Dishes go in the dishwasher and everything I wash by hand, I usually dry off immediately. In case I don't dry something right away, I have a tray on which I place the items. The tray is much easier for me to clean and dry than a draining board. Additionally, I have more workspace because of this.
