Condolences.
Really harsh...
Would insist that it be replaced without delay, you’ll just have to leave a few things in the apartment then...

The floor layer has apparently just spoken on the phone with a technician from Haro (manufacturer) who says it is impossible that there are live beetles or larvae inside because the wood is somehow heat-treated and impregnated and then vacuum sealed. Another reason given by the floor layer is that the floorboards are made from "old wood" and it’s similar to knots in the wood. It sounds a bit strange to me... Although I also know for sure that the floorboards were stored in the floor layer’s warehouse for at least two months because he ordered them much earlier. No idea if something could have settled there...

We are now a bit desperate and don’t know what to do. Because the furniture is supposed to be delivered tomorrow and the move should take place on Saturday. We have to be out of the current apartment by Monday at the latest next week.

I don’t see how you can manage a temporary solution quickly in this time.

I would move in and especially keep an eye out for the beetles, document them, and then destroy them if noticeable. The pests spread via the beetles; the larvae don’t travel far. It might also be that only 2 floorboards are infested.

The manufacturer treatment is correct. The installer’s warehouse is likely the source of infestation. But you will never be able to prove that.

Since you need a replacement, only patience will help.

I would risk the furniture being infested, since they can also be treated individually and an infestation is not certain. The stress of not being able to move now is even greater.

Wishing you good luck, it really turned out badly.

Insanity... also because of the small holes.

Just go to the hardware store where Haro is and see if there are also such small holes there

If it reassures you a little: We also had some holes in our floorboards (oak), but no pest.
