Hello everyone

we are currently planning our new building with an architect.
When should one go to the kitchen studio or for bathroom planning to make sure that all windows, doors, and walls can remain as they are?
How did you do it?

Regards,
milkie

We planned the bathroom directly with the floor plan and also determined the complete sanitary equipment. We planned and ordered the kitchen shortly before the screed was laid. It has been at the seller's warehouse since the end of January and will be installed in the second week of March as soon as the tiles are laid. You just have to calculate about 8 weeks of delivery time for the kitchen, so it fits quite well with the screed.

Without a floor plan, it's pure waste of time. Or better: Just get started now, and get your shock early.... Bathroom and kitchen are always the icing on the cake with gold leaf.

From the moment you have a scale-accurate floor plan, you can dive into the kitchen madness.... Our rule of thumb: The first quoted price divided by 2.5 should be the target price. We had to negotiate often and for a long time, in the end we got one dealer that far. First price over €25,000, paid in the end under €10,000.

For the bathroom, we stayed with the standard of our house provider and saved ourselves the bathroom furniture.... €500 for a particleboard washbasin cabinet.... No thanks. The €50 Ikea version looks hardly different and has the same effect.

We planned the kitchen very early so that adjustments to windows and doors were still possible. You shouldn't start that too late. We planned the bathroom together with the floor plan.

One should at least have an idea of what the kitchen or bathroom should look like. If then something could still be changed könnte, all the better. So if the building application has already been submitted, you have to live with the existing conditions.

Our floor plan was roughly in place in March. In June we submitted the building application. In the meantime, I had toyed with the idea of a sink on our preparation island. Then a drain would also have been necessary there, which I would have had to indicate to our architect so that she could plan it accordingly.

But there are also builders who build the house around the kitchen. Those who like to cook so much and so often that the kitchen is meant to be THE highlight of the house. Then you would have to start planning earlier

A floor plan is already available. We can now also move doors and windows. Then we will soon arrange consultation appointments as soon as we have the revised floor plan. Thank you very much!
