At the risk of writing the same thing as most before me: we made an early rough kitchen plan because we wanted to adapt the layout to our kitchen. We have a floor-to-ceiling window, which was planned exactly between the (half-)island and the cabinet wall. Then the layout was precisely worked out and sent to the kitchen salesperson for "checking". Once everything is finished, the men come by, take the measurements, and place the order for the kitchen.

We definitely need this now to know how the two "inflexible" doors to the hallway and the storage room are positioned.
