New construction aluminum or PVC roller shutter slats

I still haven't understood exactly what the advantages of aluminium roller shutters are.

Advantages:
They look better
They are more durable
And possibly a bit better thermal insulation in summer

Have I forgotten anything?

Unfortunately, we can only choose the color in standard gray for both versions

Another advantage - but already mentioned above: They are a bit heavier and therefore run better. Especially with small plastic roller shutters, they can sometimes catch slightly when being lowered - particularly when they are new. Also (see above): Less susceptible to wind, which is more noticeable in large to very large formats.

We have plastic and aluminum roller shutters. We have the aluminum roller shutters on the windows that are too large for plastic roller shutters. You can neither see nor notice any difference in any other way. So I wouldn't spend more money on aluminum roller shutters. In the new house, we are only getting them because of the color and because it is standard with our [Bauträger].

Unfortunately, I can't judge that because up until now I haven't had any aluminum roller shutters; I was satisfied with the PVC ones (didn't know anything better either) but none of them have broken on me so far

Well then, the matter is clear for me. Personal experience says no problem with plastic. Forum says aluminum is generally better, but your surcharge is too high. --> Take plastic, and if it looks ugly or breaks in 15 years, replace it with aluminum (then also in the desired color) / for particularly large elements, possibly aluminum right away.

I don't know any aluminum and therefore the decision is difficult for me whether it is worth it and afterwards not say that it was not worth it

But I don't want to spend more later to replace it afterwards.

Can you replace something like that yourself?

Color is also not possible later because it is specified in the development plan for a uniform overall appearance
