Hello everyone,

last year we purchased an 800 sqm plot near Stuttgart, which is to be built on for us and my parents. I have created the plans and they are currently with the draftsman to be finalized for the building application.

We plan to build with Neopor formwork blocks and are looking for companies for implementation in this way. So far, I have not found any nearby. Maybe someone has a tip. Reliable companies from other European countries are also welcome.

Many thanks and best regards, AvH

I am attaching the current plans.

Kern-Haus builds with formwork blocks. But the insulation is on the inside. I googled your block. I only see disadvantages. Why do you want something like that?

Hello,

feel free to correct me. I found it quite innovative now compared to aerated concrete:

- better insulation
- better soundproofing
- higher compressive strength of concrete --> statics
- faster to build

but maybe I don't quite see the whole picture yet (?)

I am grateful for any professional advice.

Regards, Alex

This is literally the royal road to actually implementing planned botches 1:1. Draftsmen are not architects, but merely their assistants (I assume the sorcerer's apprentice is known despite Pisa). At least here in the floor plan section, you should have your plans "torn apart." This is putting the cart before the horse, trying to find the builder for the stone. My mantra is: first, no stone is Beelzebub or the Messiah; and what is truly innovative is usually beyond the understanding of laypeople. And second, the experience of the processor minimizes critical points and thus outweighs in practice by far the greatest difference between the data sheet properties of two stones. In this sense, the worst thing that can happen to you would be that a builder could be persuaded to try for the first time with a stone unfamiliar to him. Formwork stones are a great invention for DIY builders and for the project horizon "garden wall."

Hello,

I'll try to stick to the topic. Let's see if 11ant can do that too

- I'll gladly upload the plans along with the floor plans. I'm sure that some things won't work despite extensive research. That's probably one of the reasons a forum like this is useful
- Can someone objectively explain to me why, for example, aerated concrete is preferable to formwork blocks?
- or what are the disadvantages of the ICF system?

Many thanks and best regards, Alex

Two things would interest me about the system. I don’t want to speak badly about the system, I’m just concerned with understanding.

- To properly distribute the concrete inside, you have to use a vibrating poker. It’s quite a robust process. Do the stones withstand this? How do you avoid gravel pockets?
- If sockets are to be installed on the exterior walls in the room, how is this done? Is it enough to cut the Styrofoam up to the concrete, or is that even allowed? Is the depth then sufficient and how do you secure the socket?
