Exactly. We just got a huge pile of stones from a field edge (the farmer had sorted them out there) and are now building a small wall in the garden, which supports an edge of about 40-50 cm height between the terrace and the lawn that is partially present due to the terrain slope.

We also have places where you can get stones from the field or you can ask house builders. For example, we were so rich in stones that some trailers picked up stones from the terrace excavation. Free of charge, win-win for everyone. There were really beautiful large sandstone stones.

That's how it is, which brings us back to regionality here. Creating something individual from what is available or cheaply obtainable with a bigger pinch of imagination.

no, a dry stone wall is a wall in which individual joints can be planted if desired. A Friesenwall is wider because it is planted on top, often with a hedge.

half of the Friesenwall is already standing,
meaning the L-bricks from the neighbor, take a look at your wall with imagination

I don't see any advantage for me in a [Friesenwall] now. It then seems as if I would be extending the neighbor's property!
or I also don't see any difference compared to a raised bed.
