Haydee, it was a bit early for you in the highlands. The seed needs 10 degrees soil temperature or more to germinate. You didn’t have that up there at sowing time yet. Overseeding is correct. Feel free to give it some! Nitrogen. Don’t overdo it. I always make a mixture in a bucket of some fertilizer, grass seed, and potting soil, spread it, and water it. K.

...this year we fertilized with the Wolf Garten Universal spreader. It works wonderfully, I would never have thought so, since the thing looks a bit like a toy. The fertilizer just must not be clumpy. With that, you can really distribute the stuff evenly.

Thank you. It is warm. I got a mixture from my cousin. Ready to use. Only the flock of birds is after the seeds. Whether my kamikaze blackbirds or the shy jays. Yesterday the swallows scolded because I had watered.

Yesterday, the sparrows protested here. They sat in/on the (empty) bird feeder and scolded loudly. Then the man gave in and made a batch of popcorn to have peace.

I'm curious whether Pim will visit us again. That's what we named a little chirpy who, starting in spring, came to our outdoor seating area every evening at dusk, made himself comfortable up on a beam, and slept there. In the morning at dawn, he flew away again. Every single day, until autumn. I found that so wonderful! No matter if we grilled, had a party, or sat outside until the early hours - Pim was there.

...that's it! I just can't understand people who don't want anything to do with a garden, saying it only creates work. But everyone is different
