Sure, she will outlive me. But I think the idea that the tree will still be standing there in the best case 200 years later (or longer) is simply brilliant. So the lifespan should definitely be around 150 years or significantly more.

The question of water requirements is important to me - we are currently facing the next drought. It has hardly rained at all for weeks.

Well, enough about me now! This isn’t my thread^^.

The hedge looks great

We are also right in the middle of the planting phase. On Tuesday, the nursery planted an almost 3-meter tall Japanese maple. Since then, I have been totally amazed and always sit excitedly by the window watching. And the first copper serviceberry has been planted in the front garden.

Otherwise, we have a large bed with perennials and grasses for the bees. I’m already very curious about when I will have something to look at...

Now I slowly have to start dealing with the selection of hedge plants!

Here, again, no rain. Nothing will be planted before autumn anymore. The vetch, sunflowers that I am currently growing on the windowsill will still go outside, and that’s it. Ok, the gardening still has to continue. I don’t have any more beds. The hedge is watered - planted in autumn and spring.

The hedge and the perennial bed we will water, with the lawn we'll see. Overall, I have to say, it depresses me how little it rains here. Poor nature - and most people only see the "great weather," but not how nature unfortunately. :-(

I do not water the lawn. Mother did not water last year. This year aired out, scarified, fertilized and overseeded. It’s coming back well. I want to overseed tonight. Family Erpel has been gone for almost a week. They have been busily pecking and freeing the grass from all sorts of tiny creatures.
