I totally overlooked that, thanks
Did you set that up yourselves? How was it in terms of difficulty and cost?

We have no experience in gardening yet, but the concept will definitely be similar to yours. Many native plants, everything that is good for insects and other creatures, and simply naturalistic

hmm no we didn’t do it ourselves - in terms of difficulty it would have been doable, you just stack stones on top of each other so that gaps form, the whole thing in a gravel bed and slightly narrower towards the top.

Now here comes the but
That’s Grauwacke - it came in thick chunks, which were shaped or simply broken into smaller pieces on site. Preferably without much "waste" and you have to be able to do that - or if you have to practice first, it gets expensive
Also, I really wouldn’t have wanted to carry the stones in that quantity (and couldn’t handle the big ones).

Yeah it wasn’t a cheap pleasure - the 2 beds + the path you’re well into the mid four-figure range with labor costs. But that doesn’t hurt me, the money was already planned with the house loan because we just can’t/won’t do everything ourselves.

: If the stones are fairly even, it’s no problem even for beginners. 2 days of work for two people:

I love this stone. Maybe your stone came from our Lindlar...

We live on graywacke - soil class 7. How the stone experts handle the stone - there are certainly differences. I will certainly dry-stone wall some myself, but we had the first ones made by the Lindlar graywacke manufactory Wegerhoff and have not regretted it for a second.

It also combines quite well with wood and "Spa" - here is my latest garden work, from the whirlpool you can look into the valley and no one is looking back. Above, the terrace of the ground floor protects it. What is stone here is graywacke.

The bicycles still need a little house and the garden hose is too often in the way. So lay pipes...

Depending on the soil you have, building material comes with the excavation.

From our terrace excavation, sandstone was selected for 2 walls.
It then looks similar to bon1990 or der Müllerin.

For us, it is carved and built. Although not much had to be done there anymore. It was all walled up before or is old stock.
