So, I don’t know if it helps, but I had two moves done via MyHammer. Once just the basement and attic including tools/machines, and once the entire household.
The first job was commissioned purely online and by phone. That was suboptimal. Despite advance pictures and exact descriptions, the company completely miscalculated and then started slacking off. In other words, they ended up damaging quite a bit because they also had the attitude that items from the attic or basement must be worthless anyway. Unfortunately, that was wrong. In the end, they had to pay back 30% of the already loss-making revenue directly to me for damage compensation.
The second time, we simply invited the companies that were interesting price-wise to come and see the apartment. In other words, we contacted the 5-10 best offers and then eliminated the first ones we found unsympathetic. Also, we eliminated all companies that did not want to see the situation on site.
That way, the companies could get a planning impression and we could get an impression of the company. You could immediately tell who knew what and who didn’t. And sympathy points should not be underestimated either.
The second move was super relaxed, super organized, and professional. And that at up to 200% below competitor prices.
I would do similar with craftsmen. Advertise, check the best offers, discuss live and then decide. Insurance questions etc. should of course be clarified in the process.
