Good decision to consult an expert. I keep my fingers crossed that you can fix the cause for little money and without much effort.

Keep us updated.

Depending on the device, the minimum distance is between 5-10cm. If necessary, perimeter insulation can also be used in the gap. So no mineral wool as mentioned before, otherwise it could backfire,... it might absorb water like a sponge.

The trick is to shift the dew point using insulation. Either it works, then there is no more water (and thus no problem with the mineral wool), or it doesn't work. Then there is still water on the fridge and wall. You take out the wool and throw it away.

I mentioned mineral wool because of its flexible property. You can buy it at any hardware store and stuff it in nicely. Put it in and after two weeks pull it out again and see if it stayed dry. The test period will probably be over soon due to rising outdoor temperatures. Would just try it immediately.

The expert will recommend "proper" solutions. Whether people will consider them practical, I currently doubt, if they don’t even want to change the kitchen (which is the lesser evil).

Is there mineral wool that can be stuffed into a gap up to 1 cm wide? The thinnest I quickly found was 40 mm thick.

The dew point kept shifting, the high-tech end would be a CalSi board, but HWL also works because of the capillaries. Up to 5cm you usually don't do much wrong, but I have also carried out tests with a thickness of 10cm.

Of course there is mineral wool for joints, as with windows.

Well then, take a look at vacuum insulation panels, on the topic of Highend ;-) But we're on the same page.
