Hello everyone, we built with 17.5 cm sand-lime brick and 14 cm WLG 032 mineral wool and 11.5 cm clinker. We also achieved KfW 70 for the entire building. Although I actually didn't care whether I met any KfW standards because we didn't use any KfW funds. The goal was to consume as little energy as possible in the form of fossil fuels (gas), and we actually managed that quite well. I can only say that a construction of 16 cm mineral wool + ventilation gap of at least 3 cm in the cavity distance can be problematic. At least that’s what our architect and a friend who is a construction engineer said. The distance is too large for the normal anchors that are embedded during masonry. Special anchors are required, which are correspondingly more expensive, and the gain from 2 cm thicker insulation is rather small. Otherwise, we are very satisfied with the construction; our first heating season is now behind us, and the gas consumption is about 400 m³ since last October plus 2 rm of wood, which we burned through the water-based tiled stove.
