Mirror slot - alternatives?

Hello,

for various reasons, my office is going into the basement (existing, renovation), there I have a nice separate entrance and my peace. Since I spend a lot of time (actually most of it...) working from home and thus in this room, it would be nice to bring in a bit more light. The plan is to expand the existing 2 small basement windows into a large light well, oriented almost exactly south, towards the garden. We have now discovered the Lichtschacht system (can be found on Google), which looks very reasonable; if it works like that, it would hugely enhance the room.

Now the question: Does anyone know it, has experienced it live, and/or maybe knows of alternatives? The price is, according to the inquiry, around 12k EUR, which is not little, but it would be worth it to me, so that is not the reason – but maybe there are better systems that I just haven’t found?

Thanks in advance for your support!

Best regards

I don't think the Knecht floodlight idea is bad at all - it also looks quite stylish. However, when I checked back then, it was not clear whether they also offer this as an element for, for example, conversions or external projects, or if only as a modular element for their own prefabricated basements.

Do I have a different Google? I only see "normal light wells"... no System Lichtschacht... You could post a photo. If it's not about the usual 120€ light wells, then another suggestion: dig out a semicircle in front of the window and cover it with rocks (or others). Almost cost-neutral and guaranteed light, including child entertainment.

It most likely refers to the [Spiegelschacht system] from Heliobus.

Yes, of course I mean Spiegelschacht, from Heliobus - sorry. I even managed that in the title.

The terrace comes before that, or rather the path around the house/between pool and terrace, which is ideally to be covered with glass so you can walk over it.
There’s enough kid entertainment just around the corner.

Interesting. You can get all sorts of things for €12,000. The technology is not new (anyone who has had an optics course knows the "mirror" system…) Not bad, the woodpecker. It wouldn't be worth it to me at all. I would build it myself. But if you think you get good added value from spending the money, … I can't imagine anyone on this forum having installed it.
