manual roller shutters / roll-ups very loud

Hello, unfortunately, for cost reasons we only decided on electric blinds for large windows. Now we have to find that the manual winders are very loud. It is not the blinds themselves but the strap guide, especially the upper one. At acquaintances, I saw small brushes there and it somehow seemed "insulated"; with us everything is very loud, so you can hear throughout the house when a blind is opened or closed - even very carefully. The window fitter brushes it off, "that's just how it is." We do not want to accept that. Does anyone know a SOLUTION; CAN SOMETHING BE RETROFITTED? Thank you.

Generally, I would say that the assessment of the noise level of roller shutters is a subjective matter, but since you find it very disturbing, there is indeed a certain level present. The fact that roller shutters with strap guidance are louder than those with motor drive is natural, since the tubular motor is inside the box, the modern motors are very well ball bearing mounted and therefore run very smoothly. Apart from the cable connected to the building technology, there is no connection to the interior. This is different with strap operation, as many moving parts, such as the wheel sitting on top of the roller shutter shaft, the mentioned strap guide and the mini strap winder that takes up the strap. All in all, I would try to retrofit higher-quality strap guides and strap winders (hardware store, etc.), since these can sometimes be faulty and then do not run smoothly. If this does not have the desired effect, I would consider gradually converting to E-drive.
