I won’t run the ventilation over the summer anyway, since the windows are open.
Unfortunately, a less good idea. The system should run continuously, regardless of whether you open the windows or not. Why else would you open the windows? To let in mosquitoes, pollen, dust... unnecessarily? :) I know, I know, people have lived for thousands of years without controlled residential ventilation, but if you already have the system ....
Many people in the house don’t run the ventilation at all because the noises bother them.
If the noises bother someone, the system has been calculated or installed incorrectly. Ideally, depending on the ventilation level of course, it should be almost or completely inaudible.
