If you mean the second seriously, you should stop the first. So at least let it ventilate on minimum level. Otherwise, you won’t get the moisture out of the pipes and it can start to get moldy there.

I think I won’t sign a maintenance contract and also won’t buy the original filter mats, I found a good alternative. I won’t run the ventilation over the summer anyway, since the windows are open. Many people in the house don’t use the ventilation at all because the noise bothers them. Since it’s a new building, and there isn’t much ventilation during the winter, I didn’t want to get mold in the apartment. Thanks for your advice!

Unfortunately, a less good idea. The system should run continuously, regardless of whether you open the windows or not. Why else would you open the windows? To let in mosquitoes, pollen, dust... unnecessarily? :) I know, I know, people have lived for thousands of years without controlled residential ventilation, but if you already have the system ....

If the noises bother someone, the system has been calculated or installed incorrectly. Ideally, depending on the ventilation level of course, it should be almost or completely inaudible.

So we have the Zehnder Q350 and don't hear anything that would be disturbing.

Why else should you open the windows? To unnecessarily let in mosquitoes, pollen, dust ...? :)

why build a house with a garden if there are such deadly things outside, that's the garden, you can go outside and also keep the big glass doors open :eek:

You’re probably right! However, no one stops you from keeping the system running, even if only at a low level ;)

So my wording was a bit exaggerated since the argument for turning off the system is somewhat flawed :) Likewise, I was not referring to the deadly dangers lurking outside, but rather to the >unnecessarily< ;)
