A clear room height of 2.46m is actually nowadays more like the lowest standard in the truest sense. Common room heights are around 2.60m. In small houses, 2.55m is also okay. A room over 11m long and 2.46m high will certainly feel like a bunker.
If the ceiling is raised, the staircase needs to be bigger. Then the windows should also grow accordingly.

Ever thought about integrating the roller shutter/blind box into the facade? Then you don’t need a lintel at all and you get maximum brightness in the rooms

What do you mean by facade? We have flush-mounted boxes that are about 25 cm high. Our windows now go up to 238.5 above OKRF with a room height of 275 above OKRF, so the boxes just barely fit under the ceiling.

I agree with you! That’s why we raised it by 12.5 cm and are now at about 2.58m. The windows have of course also grown by 12.5 cm. But I think the topic is already very old and the planning is already done.

The windows and roller shutter boxes come as one piece and are inserted into the fixed opening. I guess the insulation goes in front of the roller shutters (22 cm deep with a brick depth of 24 cm, so it should fit). What advantage would it have to integrate the boxes into the facade, so you could then make the windows higher? I believe boxes in the facade are practically not possible?
