Perhaps I would consult a tax advisor beforehand. A home office can be wonderfully deducted from taxes (including a proportional share of all additional house costs), but as far as I know, only as long as it is a separate room. So if I wanted to earn part of my salary from home, I would definitely clarify whether a separate room is necessary for tax purposes or not. In times of mobile working, it may no longer be seen so strictly, but I would want to be sure. Otherwise, I would find the option of a separable corner very appealing. But do patients then also feel in a "safe" room? I just don’t know how I would confide my deepest soul secrets to someone if I somehow feel that someone could suddenly walk into the room at any time. I would probably prefer a small but enclosed room. But that is something a therapist can probably decide better.
