do you already know which light bulb you want to use? Because as many users have already written here, a large part of the successful lighting effect depends on the light bulb (lumens, kelvin, beam angle, etc.).

A question to the group:
would you rather install 3000 or 4000 Kelvin LEDs in the bathroom?
We have now agreed on relatively bright (lumens) with a 36° beam angle, which can be dimmed if needed (in case it is too bright).

I’ve heard that for example when applying makeup, 4000 Kelvin should always be preferred because it is more neutral than 3000 Kelvin (which is rather yellowish).
Still, I imagine a warm yellowish bathroom cozier than a rather neutral white one with 4000 Kelvin.

What did you choose and would you do it the same way again?

Do you also know how many lux you get on the floor with your bathroom lighting?

One thing is clear: the mirror cabinet should have 4000 Kelvin frontal lighting.

Thanks to everyone and already a happy Easter.

The lighting in the bathroom works very well for us and is as follows:
Ceiling lighting 4x 3000K, 120 degrees, 375lm through diffuser on approx. 12sqm
Alape mirror, round with continuous indirect lighting, 4200K 15W (no lm specification)
2 amber-colored LEDs approx. 30Lm each on the right and left next to the toilet about 20cm above floor height as night light for orientation without glare.
Makeup mirror with built-in light optionally 3000 or 4000K
Floor-to-ceiling window 210 x 60 facing north
Overhead window 30 x 70 facing west

Hello everyone, we are currently trying to recreate everything in DIALux. However, it will take a little while, so here is just a brief interim update: - We will probably only place 6 spots as a rectangle in the living room. The hallway and kitchen will remain as they are. - Stair lighting on the side - The upper floor is on today... When I make further progress with the software, I will provide images. We will also still have to decide exactly which light bulbs to use. Do you have an example of your ceiling lighting in the bathroom? Preferably model and preferably with picture.

Hello everyone,

I have finally managed to recreate our future house in DIALux 1:1.
Thanks again for the suggestions and tips. We tried to take many things into account.

Attached you will find the current planning. Spots are marked in red and ceiling outlets are marked in orange.
Are there any further tips/suggestions?

Hello Mambo,
I have a few more comments:

EG
Living room: I find the pendant light and the light behind the sofa stylish.
Dining room: Pendant light over the dining table also good
Living and dining room spots: When are the spots used?
Kitchen: Good
Hallway: Good
Stairs: Good
Office: The lamp is good as general lighting.
I would definitely consider task lighting above the desk.
For example, a diffuse, glare-free light on the left and right above the office chair or at least a desk lamp.
Utility room: Good
Guest WC: Maybe add mirror lighting.

OG
Child 1 and 2: The general lighting is okay.
Additionally, extra lighting above the desks again.
It’s not very comfortable to work with the light source behind your back.
Hallway: Good
Storage room: Are tall cabinets planned there?
Bedroom: General lighting is okay.
Don’t you want lamps on the left and right of the bed?
Either pendant lights above the nightstand or wall lamps.
Bathroom: I still think that a stylish wall lamp with pleasant light in the toilet area would be better than a spot.
Shower is okay.
With the mirror(s) above the washbasin, definitely provide frontal lighting as well.
The spots would be directly above the head. That’s not very nice. It creates ugly shadows under the eyes, nose, and chin.
