Hello everyone! I am interested in an Ikea kitchen and have understood that you need cover panels for the visible side parts of the carcasses. And here I already have the first problem! The base cabinets have carcasses 80 cm high and the plinths are 8 cm high. The cover panels for the 60 cm deep carcasses are accordingly 80 cm high, but those for the 37 cm deep ones are 86 cm!

1. Why?
2. Do I now have to saw off the 86 cm ones???

In this great 3D planner, there are no cover panels for these cabinets at all, only filler strips; of course, I tried to check with the program, but it doesn’t work.

Hello,

1. Because they are mainly used for the wall cabinets.
2. Yes. Or shorten the others in depth.

Hello IKEA expert, thanks for your answer! For the wall cabinets? Hmm, that only fits if you use decorative strips for the 80 and 100 cabinets. If you take 40 or 60, you’re screwed and have to saw again...

Does the side panel width of 39 cm even fit for base cabinets? Because the depth with door on the base cabinets is 39.4 cm and on the wall cabinets 38.8 cm for the front I want (Ringhult). Is it not at all intended by IKEA that you put base cabinets so that the sides are visible?

Base and wall cabinet carcasses are both 376 mm deep with rail.

Yes, without doors. However, the doors are 1.8 cm thick. The measurements at IKEA confuse me. Can you help me with that? For example, for article number 899.076.40, Front Ringhult: Width: 80.0 cm = total width of the carcass Carcass, depth: 37.0 cm = inside of the carcass = width of the side panels, since the back panel is only cardboard Depth: 39.4 cm = can only be with door and rail, so without the rail 38.8 cm Height: 88.0 cm Carcass, height: 80.0 cm For the wall cabinets, however, the depth is given as 38.8 cm, so it should also include the rail analogously to the base cabinet. What is correct?

37 cm is just the nominal depth. Someone probably programmed nominal depth front thickness.
