We Berliners just have our pride. Poor but with high ceilings. Seriously, I'm quite glad about it, that way I didn't need an expensive demolition permit...

You Berliners will get your turn too... In the course of increasing housing density in the city centers, Berlin's old apartments with a ceiling height of 2.90m are simply divided at half the height

I believe it is already in planning, it's probably already in the Postillion.

Yes, it will certainly have been decided soon (forgive my language, I'm not quite as practiced in the future perfect tense since the BER was completed ;) )

So, I spoke with the structural builder again today. The plan to fill the missing 5cm is to shell out the 5cm and fill it with concrete (+ Styrodur external insulation).

However, I don’t know to what extent we will then have the risk of thermal bridges and mold afterwards?? (The remaining wall is 36.5cm unfilled Poroton)

I share your concerns. Concrete + "ETICS" has a different thermal transmittance than monolithic porous bricks. The idiot should simply rent a stone saw. With a bedding layer as usual at the bottom, he would have adjusted the height better, but the top is also okay now. But not this amateurish hacking. Are you seriously building with the butcher GC of – honestly: what does that guy do for a living?
