We are talking here about a single carport made with the shoddiest wood available on the market, once treated with plenty of poison. But at least the material thicknesses are reasonable. Sensibly, you would make the same in KVH, KDI doesn’t deliver what it promises anyway. Although the carport itself is only part of it. You still need foundations, the appropriate H-beams as well. You also need the substrate, which you can estimate to cost about a thousand for 2 cubic meters. For this single carport, you’re then at 4k, for a double carport certainly closer to 6k than 5k.However, it is by no means the end of the world to green a carport. Look for Weka Tirol, currently available at Hornbach for 2,700 EUR including delivery, of course as a self-assembly kit. Roof load 300 kg/m², that’s more than enough.
If you have something like that built for you, including greening, 5,000 EUR won’t be enough.
Whether a layperson really manages to make this self-adhesive roofing membrane watertight will only be seen after a few years. If not, the roof will have composted. A green roof doesn’t forgive mistakes here because the substrate is constantly moist. As own workmanship, I find that highly questionable.
