@Wastl, moving windows or enlarging/reducing them by 10% is basically allowed - also with us
But if I wanted 5sqm of brick wall now (even if it were only in the garden), it would not be approved for me.

Hello,

That belongs – depending on the trade – to the responsibilities of the shell builder. However, it "can" also be the case that your provider has split the trade and will involve a subcontractor (if not available in-house) only for clinker or strips. Every builder has their preferences

That depends entirely on your preparation and decision and is not solely based on your architect’s advice.

If it comforts you – over the years I have handed over numerous building projects; quite a few owners would do many things differently "from today’s perspective" with their next build. This is not because they were uninformed or not advised, but due to the passage of time and usually only becomes apparent after a few years in the new house.

So keep in mind that you and your partner(s) are making a decision at this moment, which is exactly right for you now. In a few years, it may look very different and this is by no means unusual. As long as you don’t also think about completely changing the facade construction during the shell construction phase, everything is fine

Rhenish regards

@ Construction expert

Sorry for the choice of words, I did overreact a bit.

@ ypg

I have been dealing with our construction project for well over a year. The problem is that we submitted our building application in February last year and waited an incredible 8 months for the building permit. During that time, one can easily forget what was included in the original application. I would not have brought up the idea of the clinker bricks if my architect had not told me: that it would still be possible if necessary. That's actually why I was here. But we have slightly drifted off topic.

Exactly, that is the point. That’s how I feel too. I have a new idea that I really like and if I don’t implement it, I know exactly that I will regret it. But for me, it’s not too late yet. I am also willing to accept the additional costs. An amendment to the building permit doesn't cost the world either.

Therefore, I don’t understand why you don’t understand this?

Instead of the discussion about the building permit, there should actually be a discussion about clinker bricks/brick slips here.

I'm digging up this thread again and reporting on the new findings.
We have now decided on facing bricks, by the way, clinker angle supports would also work.

The facing bricks are glued onto the ETICS, which is not uncommon nowadays, I was told.
I will have it carried out by a local painting company that specializes in external thermal insulation composite systems.
They have been installing clinker facing bricks for over 10 years now and can retrospectively report absolutely nothing negative about it.

I am uploading two current plans, I would very much like to hear your opinion on them.
Which one do you think is better? Or what would you do differently?
