Klinker or plaster? Durability / appearance?

In the Bremen area, I have seen many beautiful plastered facades (many with stucco, from the Gründerzeit), also in Oldenburg and Holstein. So definitely more clinker than in the Rhine Valley, but not only that. At least not in the sense of "North - only genuine with clinker"; the country doctor's house in "Deekelsen" is also plastered white, with a dark green door

Personally, I would always go for clinker bricks if it is financially feasible. I basically like both, but a white plaster facade often looks dirty comparably quickly in many cases. We ourselves have the old field-fired facade on the front (built in 1900) and a white plastered thermal insulation at the back (the facade there was no longer in good condition, so it was clad by my parents-in-law 15 years ago).

I would probably choose a reddish clinker myself, either the classic one or the posted (and linked above) clinker, which I also liked very much. From my point of view, it is a very beautiful clinker, especially in combination with gray windows.
