True, I've never seen it that way before. Basically, KFW loans are never attractive under good conditions. The only thing that made me take out the 153 was the option for prepayment in any amount. That option is worth its weight in gold. Essentially, my old Kfw153 behaves like a loan with a variable interest rate at normal conditions.

The great thing about the unlimited special repayment was that you could grab the repayment subsidy and pay off the KfW loan immediately again. The interest rate itself was in my opinion never particularly attractive, unless it was a 100% financing.

That didn’t work with my loan concluded in 01/2018. Why would you have wanted to pay it off immediately and lose the variable special repayment? It is paid off anyway within 2 years exactly because of its advantage.

Why should one actually choose the option with a 20 or 30-year term if the fixed interest period is only 10 years anyway? I don't see any advantage in that right now, since the interest rate ends up being worse, but I also don't have any additional security. What advantage am I overlooking?

If I am correctly informed, you pay off the loan completely within the 10 years, meaning the installment is correspondingly high. Then there might not be much left to manage a reasonable installment for the "main loan."

Term = term until full repayment. 10-year term = repayment after 10 years. 30-year term = renewal offers for the respective outstanding debt after 10 and 20 years.
