That's right. Trash does not belong on the street or other people's property!

However, there are still differences between a cigarette butt and continuous waste disposal on someone else's property.

I stick to my opinion. After all, the municipal employee showed with her immediate action that she wants to do something. This is not a private sale where the seller doesn’t care about anything as long as they get money. And no, there is no difference between a cigarette and a pile of garbage. Because somehow it always starts like this. And yes, construction workers laugh. As long as you throw a few boards into their front yard. Just two weeks, until there is space at my place again. If the neighbor sees you while the wheel loader is pushing the garbage onto his property, you are probably the one in the wrong. Because you first have to prove that it comes from him and then urge him through the usual legal channels to remove it. Permitted self-help is not an option here. And you keep seeing what idiots people have as neighbors. So it’s not entirely unreasonable.

Yes, if it’s only a few hundred euros in the end, that’s not what worries me yet.
At first, I had something like contaminated soil for the „detox landfill“ in mind, which costs tens of thousands. Obviously, I don’t really know much about it, but it’s supposed to be expensive. Then came the unsecured nail boards and also things like liability issues. And my imagination.

By the way, I spoke with the construction workers today about the nail battens and asked them to remove them due to the risk of injury. They do have a construction fence around their property, but the battens are just lying next to it on our side and are not secured to the fence. They said they would clear the items away by the day after tomorrow at the latest; they probably want to reuse them.

I have refrained from dealing with the pile of earth for now, partly because it is really (still) not that big, and partly because eliminating hazards is more important to me right now.

If I hadn’t caught anyone, I would have asked the municipality for clarification on this. In any case, from my point of view, they would probably only try by email to get the owner to encourage the construction workers to clear away/secure the items.

I hope this was the most pragmatic approach and will lead to success.

Thanks already for all your opinions on this. If anything happens (or not), I will report back.
