Hello everyone,

our developer has offered us a soundproof door from Hörmann climate class III/sound insulation class 2 (RwP 37db).

We have an indoor air-water heat pump, the controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery in the utility room, otherwise the standard installations and washing machine/dryer.

Is a soundproof door necessary or sensible there? The whole thing would cost us 200 euros extra compared to a normal door.

What about the controlled residential ventilation with such a door? Could the air circulate, or would the controlled residential ventilation be affected by it?

What do you think?

Thank you very much

Regards

Sky

200€ is absolutely nothing in construction, like ordering an ashtray with the new S-Class. however, a special interior door between the hallway and utility room is not necessary if the installed appliances are good. we also have everything in the utility room as you planned, and you can't hear anything in the hallway when the door is closed. you can ask what this door is supposed to be for. since the door has to be slotted at the bottom anyway for the ventilation system, an acoustic door only makes limited sense.

SK2 doors bring almost nothing. We have installed them in the utility room, bathroom, etc. In the office, I have SK4... then it's quiet there...

It's not so much about the 200 euros. It's more that the function of the ventilation system is impaired.

Order them as well, there are worlds of difference, with sk2 there is already a shell gasket included and it works wonders.

When the heat pump compressor turns on, you are glad.

We also have a soundproof door and it definitely helps, a washing machine is not exactly quiet when spinning.

Best regards
