depending on how quickly you want to have the children one after the other and if it works out, you can calculate your parental allowance over 2 years with 1800€ each. Afterwards, go back to part-time and you will also bring in a few hundred € again.

With two children, your allowance will also cover more and you will stay at 200€ for private health insurance for yourself and the children.

but even then you will easily have 1-1,500€ less income per month and still have 1-2 children....

you don't get 2*1800 €. I believe you have to "add on" the second child within 12 months. For the first child it will be 1,800 maximum benefit. For the second, the part-time income from 12 months prior is taken into account. Let's assume it is then only 1600 €. Then the parental allowance is around 960 € (1600 * 0.6).

The private health insurance does not cover the parental allowance. I also don't know how it is arranged with the aid, whether the subsidies disappear and then you have to pay a full private health insurance surcharge for yourself and the kids.

correct, the children must be born within 12 months.

The PKV covers nothing, it is Beihilfe. Normally it covers 50%, with two children it then covers 70%. So you and the children still pay 200€.

With us, a loan for a terraced house would be max. 400,000 (house + still missing furniture + ancillary building costs). We will take out a flexible loan, if it comes to that, so that the installment can be reduced or changed within a certain range without any change fees if the child comes or something else happens. I would also suggest that in your case. Better safe than sorry!

Ah, okay, I’m just reading (#1) outdoor facilities and miscellaneous items are included. But I dare to claim that there will still be some additional costs ... Quote from a builder: "In the end, it was only about thousands." We also have such an offer, in which "everything" is included (paving work, everything inside anyway). But then the sink in the guest WC is somehow still too small, the shower only has a handheld showerhead, even though nowadays "everyone" has a shower system. Then maybe an additional outdoor light. Do we actually have a small roof over the door? Has the awning already been paid for? Oh yes, the building expert also costs money. You want to have a great topping-out ceremony too. An additional tank refill is needed because you keep driving to the construction site. The phone bill is higher ... I don’t know.

So, long story short: No matter how complete the offer is, there is always something missing. That’s not a big deal, only problematic if the project is calculated "tight."
