Okay, thank you. I don't find that exactly in the text, but maybe it is specific to the federal state or I understand it differently. I will call the court on Monday...

What's all the fuss about? The bill has to be paid, and if it can't be deducted for tax purposes, I wouldn't care at all who the invoice recipient is.

What applies in any case: Joint and several liability

Well, since I (still) don’t have an excerpt from the land register, but only the invoice, I would like to know before paying whether the ownership shares have been correctly recorded in the land register. Since the invoice (which, as I understand, is also a notice) regarding the land register entry is only sent to one of the two buyers, I fear that the entry for the second buyer might have been forgotten.

I work at the court and also prepare court cost invoices; currently not in the land registry office, but that is not relevant. Both buyers are jointly and severally liable for the costs. Therefore, the cost invoice is actually sent to only one buyer. This is customary at the court when there are multiple jointly liable cost debtors. The court does not care who of you pays the costs and how you arrange that internally. Which debtor receives the invoice is probably a matter of "luck" :D. I usually take the one whose name appears first alphabetically. So your invoice is indeed correct.

The registration notes (i.e., a "proof" of what was actually registered in the land register) are usually only sent to the notary. The notary then sends the notes to the buyers. So I assume that you will receive mail from the notary in the next few days, where you can see what has been registered. Then you will also have your confirmation that (presumably) everything was registered correctly :).

So, everything was as Lanini and wewerad said: the invoice applied to both of us. Nevertheless, the employees of the notary or the land registry office failed to record the correct distribution of ownership shares according to the purchase contract. Instead of 30/70 from the contract, we now have 50/50 in the land register.
