Your devolo is the typical product for a rental apartment or old building without LAN and, in my opinion, has no place in a new building. Power cables are for electricity, not for data transmission! It may be sufficient for you, but must someone else live with the same crutch when it can be done right with little effort?

About Evolith: Better is always possible, but roof tiles, braas Harzer Pfanne are okay and remain watertight for decades, single-lever mixer exposed on the wall is sufficient for showering, etc.

Of course, that is enough. A 120sqm house is also enough, one socket in every room and just simple vinyl everywhere. But when you’re already building, you often want a little more. I only realized that I wanted built-in fittings when I noticed the visual difference. And then they suddenly became a must. And if I have the choice to live 20 years without verdigris on the roof instead of 10 (depending on proximity to the forest), then the extra cost suddenly isn’t so bad anymore. But it’s annoying if you didn’t factor that in beforehand and then have to save elsewhere.

You misunderstand that there are people for whom it is of no use to factor that in, because they simply do not have the money for such things and therefore have to keep it simple. Our budget was all inclusive with land 300, with landscape gardening. 250 ourselves, 50 credit. I did not want to take out and repay more in four years until 63. And at 63 it’s over, I do not take debts into retirement. That put a cap on the house price and it was set and firm, and some goodies simply do not happen then.

That is understandable. But if you don't know at the beginning what goodies all the money can go to, you can't prioritize or choose. Then I have the choice between an electric car charging point or a satellite system. Reprioritizing afterward is difficult and usually doesn't work, and then there is refinancing because you realize that the money is no longer there for the baseboards, which somehow are also mandatory.

Quite a lot going on here, thanks!

The roof tiles are concrete roof tiles from BRAAS, however, we haven't talked about any sealing/coating or the like. Thanks for the tip! We will probably skip that though...

We are still undecided about the finishing of the walls and ceilings. I first have to see how the walls and ceilings actually look and feel. I'll ask for a current site inspection, let's see what the response is...

And that's exactly what it's about for me. They are actually not in the contract and are therefore included in the "Miscellaneous" list.

Overall, I find dealing with LAN sockets rather unpleasant. However, it is still worth the extra cost to me because later WLAN problems can be more expensive. Unfortunately, a friend of mine had to painfully realize this. As an electrical engineer, I can think of plenty of other things that can be operated with such sockets, but that's an unrelated topic. The Devolo setup also works perfectly – however, you have to pay dearly for performance and low latency...
