Hello everyone,
we are currently building a single-family house with an adjoining garage.
Since the garage is at basement level and the concrete ceiling is directly connected to the house,
according to our architect, it must be insulated according to the flat roof guideline.
Now we have the following problem. According to the architect, a build-up of about 18 cm is required here. However, the screed in the interior area is 13.5 cm.
My question is, can't the same height be achieved here? Or +1 cm.
We would like to have the same levels between the interior area and the terrace area.
Is it absolutely necessary to have the gravel bed 4 cm and the slabs 4 cm? Must this be strictly observed according to the flat roof guideline? Can the insulation also be reduced to 6 cm by using better insulation material?
How would you build it?
Build-up so far.
Terrace slab 4 cm
Gravel bed 4 cm
2-layer bitumen 0.9 cm
Thermal insulation WLG 024 8 cm
Vapor barrier 0.4 cm
Bitumen primer
Reinforced concrete ceiling 20 cm
Insulation on the underside 5 cm
As I said, I would like to come to 14 cm. With regard to the flat roof guideline.
It is important to me to have the same level; otherwise, I would have a step up to the terrace outside.
I would be very happy to receive an answer from a construction expert and thank you in advance for that.
Best regards
