My large engines have always "rumbled" for a long time - hence my comment on that.

And I never had Stop/Go...

It's not too much effort for me, but to each their own.

In my opinion, insulation only reduces the extremes. That means in winter instead of -20° only -10° and in summer instead of 35° only 30°. It looks different if the garage is built into a slope, then the ground warms it. In that case, it might actually make sense to insulate, as the garage could then possibly be kept above 0° and thus also serve as storage for liquids/plants.

Funny that (also in the real winter) everyone here with the insulated garages without a slope always stays frost-free

All but no freestanding garages - that must certainly be taken into account.

I have an uninsulated garage standing to the north of my house, without a slope, and this winter plants inside it. And no frost. Maybe it’s also because, at least in our region, it was a very mild winter? It was cool for a long time, but never really cold. The winter before last also had no frost, but it wasn’t very cold either.

It also depends on the region. Rheinland, NRW, etc., are practically frost-free all year round (I tend to exaggerate, but there is a core of truth), while east of the Elbe or also in more southern areas (Schwäbische Alb?) it can certainly be cold for a longer time.

Otherwise, I agree with Musketier in #29 ...
