Oh, I wanted to ask that too. I will have a total of 4 connections in the attic (2x living room, kitchen, possibly bedroom). Today, a lot is being said about Quattro LNB with multiswitch, but I can also use a Quadro for four TVs without an external multiswitch. Which do you recommend? Thanks in advance

We have three connections integrated in the LNB with multi. One socket is still free. It works without problems. Karsten

You probably mean a Quattro with 4 connections and an integrated multiswitch?

Quattro = multiswitch required.
Quad = connect four receivers directly

If the light bulb in a lamp is lit, the electrical system is by no means safe because of that. Picture and sound on the TV, on the other hand, are no proof that grounding and equipotential bonding are functional.

Whenever the topic of grounding and equipotential bonding is brought up, far too often an uninformed layperson appears who posts their non-standard wisdom. Even worse is that only few electricians still can present a VDE subscription that complies with contracts and especially in antenna construction mostly only do what they have always done.

Grounding and equipotential bonding are integral parts of the electrical system and according to NAV § 13 the installation is reserved for licensed electrical professionals. Whether the electrical professional of least trust knows the standards and works accordingly only becomes clear afterward.

Only if you post your material list and ideally also a distribution network sketch with approximate length indications can one assess the quality and completeness.

I know exemplary installations made by laypeople who have thoroughly informed themselves, but unfortunately many more installations where clueless work was done that only makes you shake your head.

Professional knowledge, practice, equipment such as stripping tools for self-install or compression connectors and an antenna measuring device cannot be replaced by pure optimism.

With users who already have to ask about mechanical details like the choice of roof penetration (I basically take rolled lead and a good neoprene sleeve), considerable doubts about the competence for self-performance are appropriate.

If one has absolutely no idea how an external lightning protection according to the state of the art with a separate lightning rod or even just a lightning current-carrying antenna direct grounding including equipotential bonding must be implemented according to the recognized rules of technology (= standard minimum), one should better leave it to the experts who still know what is required according to IEC 60728-11 in one’s own interest. Incidentally, according to DIN 18015, data/telephone and antenna cables must be laid in empty conduits capable of carrying loads.

PS: Your peculiar spelling strikingly resembles the multi-nicks of cantöner, dieMaus, gloss, mediamedia, playuser, Smart, tim3 (list presumably incomplete). Now also zizzi?

I think that is more his origin, and German, I believe, is not his native language.
