A stove needs a chimney. (maybe there isn't one and that's the problem?) Where there is a chimney, you can (usually?) also place a stove. I have just - after consulting the friendly chimney sweep - planned a stove in front of a combustible wall. There are mineral boards (8cm thick) that insulate so well that this works.
