no Olli, a pellet device has to be cleaned much more often than, for example, a wood stove, ( ...if you have ever read the warranty conditions for a pellet device... ) AND more intensively... cleaning all the fans etc also adds up, i.e. lots of fiddly work! OK for professionals, but for the "ordinary desk worker" a lot of work... Sure, good devices have integrated brushes or "shaking coils" in the heat exchanger that you can sometimes activate with a hand movement (usually after opening the casing first...) but it doesn't stop there... Since the mentioned house already has gas installed, I would recommend a combination of gas heating and a "normal" fireplace, possibly as a storage fireplace or storage stove... ( the question of pellets hardly arises at all for people with lots of wood at their disposal )
