We have a window with a fixed bottom light directly above the kitchen sink and think it’s great. We hardly ever get water splashes on the glass. That probably depends more on the sink. I recommend getting a window with a mini roller shutter box attachment. With large slats (52mm) and electrically operated. Because of the countertop, you stand a bit away from the window when the roller shutter is operated. The electric version is more convenient there. Also, the strap attachment is not stressed as much. If there is a switch for the electric drive, it doesn’t have to be right at the window but could also be near the light switch (e.g., next to the kitchen door). Depending on how extensive the kitchen renovation is. Another recommendation: have the window handle mounted a little lower, as it usually sits higher than on a “normal” window due to the bottom light. If you are “giants,” of course, that doesn’t matter. That should also cost nothing extra at the window manufacturer.
