Good morning,
thank you very much for your feedback!
I want to try to clarify the whole thing a bit more. Both the tiles for the floor and walls will be installed through the developer, which is fine.
The mentioned 5,000 EUR surcharge was ONLY for the vanity cabinet + "special" countertop basins (2x) + different faucets (2x). The selection in the bathroom showroom was also rather limited – at least according to our taste. That was also too expensive for us, and that’s why we considered organizing just the cabinet for the countertop basins ourselves. However, we quickly realized on the internet that the countertop basins and nice faucets are also available cheaper – well below 5,000 EUR!
That’s why we are considering organizing everything regarding the basins (cabinet, faucets, basins) ourselves.
When we then dealt with the topic, it evolved further. “Don’t we also want to get the toilet and the bathtub ourselves?” With the bathtub, you save around 600 EUR. With the toilet, 300 EUR. Significantly less than with the basins + accessories, but still. The shower faucet with rain shower can also be bought freely on the internet for much less (250–400 EUR) instead of 1,100 EUR from the bathroom showroom.
I’m still a bit skeptical about the bathtub – maybe we should let them handle that directly!? I also don’t know 100% if it will be tiled on the side, then it would be better to have it installed directly.
But the vanity cabinet, the countertop basins, the faucets for the vanity, the toilet, and the shower faucet can surely be well done “by ourselves,” it shouldn’t be rocket science, or what would you say?
How would that work with the toilet? Also regarding the flush tank built into the wall, does just any toilet fit the flush tank?
Many greetings & thanks!
