Provided you get the apartment. I find the price in a village with 5,000 inhabitants quite high. Sure, the price is low for a Hamburger. I think €1000 is already a lot if the loan installment is €1,300 - €200 child bonus for a single-family house with 160m².

Correct. Those who rent cheaply should endure in their shacks for another 5-10 years, save nicely, and then strike.

Unless they lose their job when the mega recession comes

I am absolutely happy with my 200k remaining debt

I am currently renting cheaply, but due to the 2 children, the living space is slowly becoming scarce.

Stefan: You don’t have to defend yourself. If you can do it, do it. But right now you are paying too much, often getting shoddy work in return, and - at the end of the day, it’s your debt. Karsten

Hello Karsten, I didn’t want to justify myself, but explain the background. Many build just because it’s nice and everyone does it. Right, in the end I have to pay for it, no matter what I decide.

Well, 1300€ plus reserves, you're also at 1450,- and that net over 30 years plus a remaining debt of 80k. That's a tough one! So, I would definitely consider renting. Not forever... but 5-10 years is okay. Endless flexibility and saves money. Furthermore, you avoid buying during the all-time high and have space for the whole family. But when it comes to having, having, having, reason simply switches off. I know that. But then you'll have to pay for this decision, almost for the rest of your life.
