Hello everyone,

I am planning to install a RUTINERAD oven in the Metod tall cabinet. The cable length is specified as 82 cm, but that would be a bit too short for the socket (depending on the height at which the cable comes out of the back of the oven). If I were to modify the socket to fit, several tiles would have to be removed from the wall... can someone tell me exactly where the cable is attached to the oven and/or if the cable can be replaced by the electrician? He will come anyway to connect it...

Second question, how much space is needed between the ceiling and the top edge of the cabinet for the wall cabinets to be hung? I would like the 100 cm wall cabinets, but the kitchen is only 2.50 m high.

Many thanks

Hello,

the user manual of the Rutinerad oven states.

Power cable:
Applicable cable types for installation or replacement: H07 RN-F, H05 RN-F, H05 RRF, H05 VV-F, H05 V2V2-F (T90), H05 BB-F

Accordingly, replacing the cable should not be a problem.

The upper cabinets basically only need enough space so that they can be hung on the rail, so about only 2 cm.

If the distance to the ceiling really becomes that tight, you must check beforehand whether the distance is not too small due to unevenness of the floor and ceiling. To what extent 2 cm is sufficient for ventilation when installing devices in the tall cabinet, I cannot say.

Yes, I will do that, if necessary I'll hang the cabinets 1 cm lower, I'm short anyway The tall cabinet where the oven goes is only 2.20m, that should not be a problem. Best regards

Me again... Ikea has finally answered my question about the upper cabinets and the spacing. They say I need at least 10 cm ( !! ) of space if I hang them with the rail.. I just can't imagine that, the holes for hanging are not in the middle of the cabinet, are they? I would have rather guessed 2 cm or so..

Then another question, if the tile backsplash doesn't go up to the top edge of the cabinet, do I have to build a separate spacer strip in between? I did that in my old kitchen, but mounted the cabinets directly on the strip and the wall..
