Hello everyone,

this is about these products:
Pax cabinet with Striberg LED strip and KOMPLEMENT snap fitting for the sliding door as a damper
following problem:
The LED strip is supposed to be installed at the very top. Due to the sliding door damper, it has to be placed further back. Despite the included spacers, the automatic mode does not work.
Question:
Does anyone have an idea how to still mount the LED strip at the very top and operate it in automatic mode?

Thank you very much!

Best regards
mojo

Hello,

The light strips react to ambient light (when you open the door and light falls on the sensors, the lighting turns on) - you can check this again by shining a flashlight on the "eyes."
If you now install the strip further inside the cabinet because of the door catches, there may no longer be enough light reaching the sensors, and the strip will stay off. According to , the sensor covers can be carefully removed and the sensor alignment changed; this might help.

Otherwise, you can make other, taller spacers so that the strip can be mounted all the way at the front inside the cabinet below the snap catches – but this might look less elegant, as the metal rail of the strip will probably be visible.

Alternatively, install a narrower light strip that fits at the front of the cabinet between the snap catches.

Best regards,
IKEA friend

Thank you very much for the solution attempt from IKEA-Freund. Unfortunately, the approach was not suitable and content-wise partly incorrect.

Solution:
Mount the rail normally with spacers and place it slightly further back because the damper is in the way.
Before: Carefully remove the plastic cover on the LED strip, bend the sensors slightly downwards and hold them in position with a small "wedge"—I used paper for this. This wedge should still be secured. I used adhesive tape for this. I did not reinstall the plastic cover because it would push the sensors back to their original position.
Thus, the sensors point slightly further downwards and the angle between the sensor and the cabinet ceiling is larger.

Works perfectly!
