Hello dear Ikea fans,
I am currently at my wit's end installing my new METOD kitchen and hope you have some advice for me. Overall, I actually have several problems:
1. The dishwasher problem with third-party appliances (no indication during the planning check at IKEA)
2. The extended dishwasher problem, it was planned all the way to the right wall, with a 5 cm spacer strip to the wall (also no indication from IKEA)
3. The cooktop base cabinet was personally redesigned by the IKEA consultant with one large and two small drawers – but the heat shield cannot be installed this way – so the two small drawers are to be exchanged for another large drawer...
4. The built-in refrigerator does not close properly, but this time IKEA is not to blame.
So, now I have vented my entire frustration and hope you might have some advice for the 4th problem – hopefully IKEA will solve problems 1-3 as soon as possible.... I have installed a 122 cm high built-in refrigerator (fixed door) from Siemens into the 140 cm cabinet (with the mounting materials supplied with the refrigerator). A spacer, which was also supplied, was installed as well. Everything fits exactly, I have checked this about 4,000 times, even measured with a spirit level to ensure everything is perfectly straight. But unfortunately the door does not close properly – meaning the seal does not meet seal but front meets cabinet. Could there also be compatibility problems with the refrigerator as with the dishwasher? Or should I reduce the spacing during installation contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions?
I hope someone has advice for me before I get gray hair
Thank you very much in advance
Lois
PS: If anyone has experience with the Behjälplig hinge on a SIEMENS device, I would also be grateful for feedback. The hinge is currently not available, so unfortunately I cannot try it myself.. and I am getting no information about it from either IKEA or SIEMENS.
