A cover strip is supplied for the edge. To make it neat, I would only cut the front with a circular saw or have it cut by a carpenter.

Unfortunately, the internet doesn’t offer any bargains there either.

For us, the local dealer was up to €150 below the best online price, with most other manufacturers it’s the other way around.

At the end of last year, Miele discontinued the 5000 series and replaced it with the 6000 series. Since they still offer spare parts for a very long time, you can safely take a discontinued model.

Qualitatively, I find the Miele dishwashers better; in comparative tests by Warentest, they performed slightly worse than BSH devices due to somewhat higher water consumption, but you can read in the comments of the dishwasher tests that the BSH devices can cause problems because of their low consumption values. My mother had bad experiences with Neff and Siemens, both belonging to the BSH group as well, they lasted 5 and 3 years, were mostly used on the intensive program (70*) and minimally on the automatic program (55-65*), and despite good care (regular machine cleaner) became clogged. She replaced her almost 40-year-old Miele G50 from 1966 in 2004 for ecological reasons. It was still washing at that time! Well, you won’t find longevity like that anywhere today.

So ask at local dealers, it can be worthwhile.

My Bosch has been running for 10 years, mostly in automatic program.
